The standard bearer look at him run
Right then I just pulled out my six shooter and put a metal slug Between his shoulder blades.
Titinius: Cassius, Brutus charged them yellow bellies but before he got his troops
under control they started looting while we are surrounded by Antony. Bloody peasants.
[enter Pindarus]
Pindarus: Run Away, Sir, run away Mark Antony is in the camp, sir, run, Deputy
Cassius, run away.
Cassius: Were far away enough. Look Titinius, is that my camp on fire.
Titinius: Yes Cassius, they are.
Cassius: Titinius, you are trust worthy. Mount your horse and spur him until he
has brought you to troops on yonder. And come back and report whether these troops are friend or foe.
Titinius: I will ride as fast as the wind “high hoe silver away”
[Titinius leaves]
Cassius: Pindarus climb up on that hill you know my sights bad. Tell me what
Titinius is doing.
[Pindarus Goes]
My birthday is today and I reckon today I shall die. My life is
complete. What do you see Sirrah?
Pindarus[on the hill]: Good lord, sir?
Cassius: What?
Pindarus: Titinius is surrounded by horses there gainin’ on him, but he’s ridin’
fast. They’re almost on him. They’ve dismounted, now he’s dismounted. They got ‘im,
now they’re hollerin.
Cassius: Come down that’s enough. Oh, im such a coward, yet I live to see my
friend captured while I hide.
[Pindarus descends]
Come here Pindarus. I took you prisoner in Parthia, and said I’d kill
ya if you didn’t do what I said now keep your promise, and shoot me with the very gun that I used to kill Caesar,
and free yourself. Take it now with no words and shoot me while I turn away. Caesar now has is revenge, with the gun he died
on.
Pindarus: Im free again but I wouldn’t if I had my way. Cassius Im gonna run
from this place where my country men will never find me.
[Enter Titinius and Messala]
Messala: It’s an even trade, Titinius, Brutus wooped Octavius, and Antony beat
Cassius.
Titinius: This I’ll make Cassius happy.
Messala: Where is Cassius?
Titinius: Hidden on hill up yonder with Pindarus.
Messala: Aint that him on the ground.
Titinius: Hes lyin like a dead man. Oh God!
Messala: Isn’t that him.
Titinius No, it was him. But he’s dead now. Oh the sun sets just as Cassius’ life.
Rome is over.
Messala: Our Faith in our mission has done us in what a mistake to make, saddening why
do we think only of the benefits. These mistakes are made so fast.
Titinius: Pindarus where are you?
Messala: Search for him Titinius while I report to Brutus, telling him of Cassius’ death
will be as bad as a shot in the back.
Titinius: Hurry Messala, I’m gonna look for Pindarus in the meantime.
[Exit Messala]
Why did you send me Cassius? I met your friends and they said we won, and told me to give it to you, didn’t
you hear em? You made a mistake, take this garland. Brutus wanted me to give it to ya and I come to do it. Brutus come see
how I regarded Cassius. Cassius with your permission lord I shall kill myself with Cassius’ own gun.
[Dies]
[Enter Brutus , Messala, young Cato, Strato, Volumnious, and Lucilius]
Brutus: Where, where is he Messala, where is his body?
Messala: Over yonder, Titinius is mourning Cassius’ death.
Brutus: Titinius is facing up.
Cato: He’s in Gods hands now.
Brutus: Julius Caesar you’re still here and you turn our own arms against us.
Cato: Titinius be praised, see how he covered Cassius’ body with his own.
Brutus: Are there two Romans left like these? Rome couldn’t bring up better men. I shall
weep more for these then I am paying, but I’ll pay it later, I swear. Send his body to Thasos, his funeral will
not be held here. Its to unsetiling. Lucilius, lets go, young Cato lets go to the field Labio and Plavio are still fighting
its only three and were fighting again.
